WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A WOOD FIREPLACE
Depending on the size of your room and how important the fireplace is to serve as a heat source, you’ll want to consider the size needed when purchasing a new wood-burning fireplace.
Got a special look you‘re hoping to achieve? Our Wood Fireplace Specialists can help guide you in the right direction. We carry a wide range of styles from contemporary to traditional and everything in between.
Depending on your needs, today’s wood fireplaces come with a wide variety of options. The most common options are either catalytic or non-catalytic. Both are highly effective in heating your home but offer differing performance options. Get In Touch with one of our Wood Fireplace Specialists to learn about your different options.
After doing this for over 40 years, we’ve nailed down the process required to add the warm ambiance of a wood-burning fireplace into your home. From start to finish, there are four steps:
Step One: Framing & Rough
Before you can start framing in the new fireplace, you’re going to need to do some planning to know where the venting will go and to make sure all clearances are met. We can pass this information along to your contractor or yourself, if you’re the handy type. Customers may need to apply for a wood burning permit through their local municipality.
Step Two: Fireplace & Venting Installation
Now it’s the exciting part! We’ll connect you with certified professionals who can install your fireplace and chimney.
Step Three: W.E.T.T. Certification (Wood Energy Technology Transfer)
With the installation now complete, a W.E.T.T. certification letter is provided, ensuring that your wood unit has been installed by a W.E.T.T. certified installer to manufacturer’s specifications and national code requirements.
Step Four: Finishing, Mantle Installation & Completion
With the W.E.T.T. certification, you can now enclose the fireplace area to suite your tastes. We can recommend mantle finishers who do great work and certainly don’t mind passing them along to you.
