WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A GAS FIREPLACE
Depending on the size of your room and how important the gas fireplace is to serve as a heat source, you’ll want to consider total BTU output, good radiant heat, and controllable turndown for maximum performance when purchasing a new gas fireplace.
Got a special look you‘re hoping to achieve? Our Gas Fireplace Specialists can help guide you in the right direction. We carry a wide range of fire place design styles from contemporary to traditional and everything in between.
Depending on your needs, today’s gas fireplaces come with a wide variety of options including wireless remote control, energy efficiencies, and log arrangements.
After doing this for over 40 years, we’ve nailed down the process required to add the warm ambiance of a gas fireplace into your home. From start to finish, there are four steps:
Step One: Framing & Rough
Before you can start framing in the new gas fireplace, you’re going to need to do some planning to know where the gas line will run, where the venting will go and to make sure all clearances are met. We can pass this information along to your contractor or yourself, if you’re the handy type.
Step Two: Gas Line, Fireplace & Venting Installation
Now it’s the exciting part! We’ll connect you with a certified gas fitter who can run the line to your fireplace. We’ll also then install the gas fireplace and venting components, connecting everything for a seamless installation.
Step Three: Safety Code Permit
With the installation now complete, your gas installation permit is submitted by your installer and will assure that your unit meets BC Safety Authority standards and building codes.
Step Four: Finishing, Mantle Installation & Completion
With the required permit in place, you can now enclose the fireplace area to suit your tastes. We can recommend mantle finishers who do great work and certainly don’t mind passing them along to you.
