WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A WOOD INSERT
Depending on the size of your room and how important the fireplace is to serve as a heat source, you’ll want to consider the size needed when purchasing a new wood-burning insert.
Got a special look you‘re hoping to achieve? Our wood Fireplace Specialists can help guide you in the right direction. We carry a wide range of styles from contemporary to traditional and everything in between.
Depending on your needs, today’s wood-burning fireplace inserts come with a wide variety of options. The most common options are either catalytic or non-catalytic. Both are highly effective in heating your home but offer differing performance options. Get in touch with one of our wood Fireplace Specialists to learn about your different wood insert options.
After doing this for over 35 years, we’ve nailed down the process required to add the warm ambiance of a wood-burning fireplace insert into your home. From start to finish, there are four steps:
Step One: Masonry Inspection
Prior to the installation of a wood-burning insert, you should have your masonry fireplace inspected to ensure compliance with national building codes and look for any serious deterioration. Customers may need to apply for a wood-burning permit through their local municipality.
Step Two: Fireplace & Venting Installation
Now it’s the exciting part! We have certified professionals who can install your fireplace and chimney.
Step Three: W.E.T.T. Certification (Wood Energy Technology Transfer)
With the installation now complete, a W.E.T.T. certification letter is provided, ensuring that your wood unit has been installed by a W.E.T.T. certified installer to manufacturer’s specifications and national code requirements.
Step Four: Finishing, Mantle Installation & Completion
With the W.E.T.T. certification, you can now re-do the face of your fireplace area to suite your tastes. We can recommend finishers who do great work and certainly don’t mind passing the names of stone masons, drywallers or mantle designers along to you.
